Bluey Chewy (2)
Square bay wasn’t really square. Josh told me the story about why it was named square bay but I’m still a bit fuzzy about it. Josh moved the ship into the bay and called out,
"Drop the anchors!"
"Why are we dropping the anchor here," I asked him.
"It is none of you business, get back in your cell. I was forced back onto the prison with brainy and Chibong. Last night Chibong was brought back form the torture room. He didn’t look that bad, but Brainy said just because he didn’t look bad didn’t mean he wasn’t hurt. I sat out on the balcony for and hour or two sitting their bored sill. It was then when I heard the steady beat of a helicopter.
"Brainy Chibong! Come quick, I see a helicopter. For in the distance I could make out the small shape of a chopper. Chibong and me sat on the balcony watching the shape get bigger and bigger.
Suddenly, Bill (Josh’s nutty helper) Rushed onto the balcony.
"I see it boss! I see the helicopter! Look!" I looked toward the door and saw Josh walk into the room.
" Ah, Bill. Good job, there’s some cookies in the dining hall. But before you get them tell the crew to get the landing pad ready." "That man is going to hurt himself someday," Josh muttered as bill shot out onto the deck, "Ah, well. Sometime." Josh stepped slowly out onto the deck.
The next few minutes were pretty chaotic. Workers were rushing every. People were trying to get the landing pad out in time. Everyone was yelling and screaming. Everything went on this way until finally, Josh came out onto the roof of the grand dining room and fired a gunshot.
"Shut up, will you? Why can’t you people do as I tell you. Now everyone take their places and you, Billy, get that pirate flag up and flapping or else!" Before Josh could say anything else his voice was muffled by the sound of a helicopter. People’s hats blew off and wind tugged at everyone’s coat. As an enormous chopper landed right on top of the ship.
The side door opened, and a man the same size, shape and weight as Josh stepped in the doorway.
"Josh, My old buddy, my old pal. Long time no see. Why, I haven’t seen you since we were youngsters. Remember when we had hamburger eating contest and who could watch more episodes of Barney without looking away?" said the man enthusiastically as he jumped down from the helicopter. A couple men snickered. Josh rubbed his face and looked up toward the helicopter,
"Hello, Eric," Josh took a deep breath, "That was a long time ago when we did those things and I have no intention on discussing this now. The prison is over their, get to work. I want you off of this ship as soon as possible." He said this not so happily.
"Hamburger eating contests, blah! I can’t believe I used to do these things, What a nuisance childhood is," he rolled his eyes as he walked down the stairs off the deck.
"Oh, come on little brother. Loosen up!" Eric said as he walked over to the prison. He was just about to reach for the door when josh’s voice filled the air.
"Charlie, I forgot to give you the keys!"
"Don’t worry, I got my own, remember," Charlie held them in the air for Josh to see. Josh looked at him suspiciously.
"Very well, Eric," was all he said as he disappeared into the Grand dining hall?
Charlie unlocked the door and walked in. He opened the bag he was carrying and glanced around. He turned to us and said,
"Well, are we going to escape or what?" A murmur went threw the prison.
"I’ve got the keys, don’t I?" A burst of excitement exploded through the prisoners as Charlie stuck the key into one of the cells.
"OK, we don’t have much time. Everyone line up in the order you arrived. Let’s see. I can take one Prisoner out in my helicopter, one in my toolbox, and that’s about it. Policemen, I want you to move into a separate line in the order of the death date Josh has given you.
"Death Date?" I asked confused
"Yes, policemen have death dates because Josh doesn’t want to risk being caught with a policemen captured. Either one, two, or three weeks after their capture. Anyway, all people on josh’s list for torture line up over there in the order he has you marked down. I expect you to be done after a finish talking with the police--- " Eric was cut off by the sound of the red alert alarm.
"What? What’s going on, everyone back in your cells quick! I [ll have to lock you up josh doesn’t know what I’m doing! Terribly sorry."
Everybody rushed around into their cell, as Eric ran down the isles locking them up. He swooped through the isles to the prison window and took out a screwdriver just as the great Josh Paku bursted through the door.
"What’s going on here? Charlie, what have you been doing in here?"
"I’ve been working. Nothing else, I don’t know why the alarm went off." Said Charlie innocently.
"Don’t lie Charlie, My high technology alarms never ever have false alarms. Now tell me, what are you up to?"
"Well I guess you "Hugh Tech" Alarms have just had their first one, Josh. I did nothing of you interest except fix these bars of yours."
"Fine, I’ll let you off the hook this time, but next you won’t be so lucky. Get back to work Eric. No more fooling around." With that, Josh turned around and walked out of the room shutting the big wooden door behind him.
"Okay, back to the plan police men, you know the drill." In know time at all the prisoners where lined up in different groups and were ready to be told what to do next.
"Okay let’s see, police men. I can tell that this one right here is next in line for death. He doesn’t look to well either. I can tell he’s been through torture already. Okay, you two, get this guy into my giant toolbox over there." Eric walked over two Chibong, Brainy, and me.
"You guys are up for starvation huh, well I have a little something that might help you stay alive a little longer. Here." Eric handed Chibong a blank scroll, "Pour some salt water on it and hold it under the light of a full moon and the words will appear. GOTTA GO!" Eric picked up his toolbox and headed out the door.
"Finally you’re done. You take forever to get a job done. Now get your stinking but off my ship or I’ll blast you into a trillion pieces you Moran." He pointed his machine gun at Erik’s head.
"Settle down little brother, I’m leaving." Said Erik already Jumping into the helicopter. Just then, a muscular looking pirate ran out from below deck.
"Sire! Sire!" He screamed running towards josh.
"What do you want deelow? Is there something wrong?"
"Well, I was just going down into the dungeon to get that police guy so I could hang him. But, well, Sire, Please don’t get to mad, but He’s GONE!!!"
"Gone!? Listen hear you filthy thing, tell me this is just some joke!"
"It’s not a joke sir, not at all.
"Tell me it’s a Joke, and I’ll let you live!!"
"It’s not!"
"Grr!!!" Josh threw the man across the deck, "You two! Get him!" Josh screamed furiously pointing at Erik. The two guards ran toward the helicopter but Erik had already started the propeller and was lifting off the ground.
"You fool! Fool, fool, fool! You get the missiles ready! Torpedo control set the torpedoes!" Josh ran over to the alarm lever and pulled it down.
"Attention everyone! This is Josh Paku signaling a red alert in Security. I repeat, I red alert in security. I want those missiles being fired now. All soldiers get up on deck with your guns and be ready to get shootn’. Get those Cannons loaded! All 38 of em’!"
In hardly anytime at all, about 50 men were lined p on the starboard side of the ship each holding a gun. Suddenly, out of nowhere a huge floatplane zoomed into view. Erik landed his helicopter.
"Fire Missiles!" Shouted Josh from through the loud speakers. The air was suddenly filled with the whizzing sounds of missiles cutting through the air. All that could be heard was gunshots and machine guns going off. I looked out the back window of the ship and saw Police jets coming our way.
"Torpedoes ready! Police ships are heading into the bay!"
"Sire! There’s jets coming in from the south side!"
"What!? Automatic missiles control, Jets heading into range from the south!" An explosion cut off Josh. The ship rocked a little but showed no sign of taking in water. I wondered where the explosion came from. Then I saw it. The torpedoes where hitting the police ships. I watched the sky and all the explosions and saw a group of helicopters coming from the East Side. The helicopters flew over head and twenty soldiers came down in parachutes. I heard more machine guns go off and guessed that the soldiers probably had machine guns as well as Josh. I heard the Prison door swing open. Quickly I turned around. Two Soldiers had busted the door open and were chopping the locks on the cage. I burst out in excitement. I celebrated a little too soon.
Another explosion went off on deck. Then, I heard Josh’s voice, " Good, I think that’s enough to hold them off. Hoist anchor, and set sail! I think anymore soldiers left on the ship can b taken care of while we’re moving." One of the soldiers took out a walkie-talkie.
"We need back up fast. Hello? Come in. Control central? Blast, I’ve lost the reception." The soldier pressed a green button on the walkie-talkie, "Don’t worry you guys. We’re sending an emergency transmit to the Albuquerque police station. We should have a new army in a couple of hours. In the meantime, we’ve got to hide. Everything is going to be okay."
The two soldiers were captured late at night when Joshes ship quite a distance away from square bay. The army never came.
"Ha, ha! I’ve finally got you two. You guys are the last of the soldiers that attacked my ship. Did you really think you could send a transmit to the Police station? Ha! Guess you didn’t know I have a force field around my ship did ya? Nobody can release a distress transmit for help from my ship. Do you know how many people have tried that? Anyway, my computers picked up the transmit in no time at all and told me it came from you. Hand me the transmitter, I’ve got a little surprise for those little fellows at the Police center." The soldier handed him the transmitter without a fuss.
"Thank you, Dingdo! Bring out the invention!"
"Yes Sire," said the little man Josh was yelling at. He stuck two fingers in his mouth and whistled. A little motorboat floated on the side of the ship.
"Watch and learn my friend," Said Josh smiling. He pressed a button on the control pad he was holding and suddenly, the moor boat started to grow and, grow, and grow! Three long poles for the sails grew out of the hull of the motor boat, which was no longer small enough for a motor boat. Slowly, 38 cannons appeared on the side of what used to be a motor boat, huge ship. When the transformation was done, what you had was an exact replica of Josh’s Ship. Even the people on it were exact. Well, almost. They were different people probably.
"Tada!" Hollered Josh proudly.
"How on earth did you do that?"
"How? What do you mean how?"
"How did you make that empty little motor boat turn into a replica of your ship with real people?"
"Real?"
"Ya, real people. How did you do it," I asked flustered.
"Real? They’re not real. Nothing about that ship is real. There is no ship that even comes close to looking like this one. That ship that you see is a complete hologram. All I need to do is send those funky policemen a signal for them to think that is me and this is that. That’s where your transmitter comes in," said Josh taking the transmitter out of his pocket, "I’ve already programmed it to send a transmit to the Police station when I click this button." Josh laughed al little and showed us a red button on his control pad.
"You see, I’m going to use this remote control to guide this---Er did I say I? I meant one of my workers---motor boat away from my ship then press this button," he pointed to a small, blue, button that said: auto run, "Then as it starts to move away from any police boats, I don’t want them to figure out my plan to soon. I press the hologram button and…Surprise! It’s a wild goose chase. That will keep most of the police boats busy while I, The most famous Josh Paku, go and do some ransom and killings. Good plan?" Nobody said anything
"Fine, I don’t really care if you think it’s a good plan or not. It is my plan, so, It will be carried out if you like it or not. Even if that means doing it all myself. Which won’t happen I’m sure. Hey! You, over there. Take this and do as the instructions saved under "Hologram plan" in the computer. Do it quick and don’t make a mistake. Got that?" Josh handed him the remote control pad.
"Yes, sire," the man said as he walked toward the computer room. Josh sighed,
"Finally, all is sorted out. Now I can go do some relaxing and killings. Tootles." A couple guards holding guns led us back to the prison and we were locked back up. Days went past and Josh would make usual visits to the Prison usually eating a chicken bone or something. He would tease us by holding the food into the air. Once he cooked a big feast in the main hall. Josh took out a fan to fan the smell of the mashed potatoes and chicken into the vent of the door. We were starving. Josh refused to feed us and said he would keep us in the prison until we starved. Soon after we were almost too weak to jump, he let us out of our cells. Not out of the prison, but at least he let us out of those small uncomfortable cells. He said we were too weak to escape now. We could jump off the balcony or we would drown instantly. We were too weak to break the door down or attack a soldier. He took away any weapons out of the prison because he didn’t want us murdering ourselves. There was one night that I truly thought I was going to die of hunger. I looked out at the ocean. Then I noticed a short weird looking figure on the balcony. I walked over and figured out it was Brainy. He was holding something. I looked closer and realized…it was the map of Blackhawk Josh’s brother had given us. I’d forgotten about that. Suddenly, Brainy turned around.
"What are you doing here Jodie?"
"I, I don’t kn-know. I was j-just g-going out for a w-walk." I had never been so scared in my life. Well kinda, I guess not because it’s different when you’ve been attacked tortured and hijacked by pirates. Yo know what I mean.
"Jodie, I suggest you go to sleep, and don’t you ever tell anyone what you just saw."
"O-Okay I-I’ll never ever t-tell," I said frightened.
"Good," Said brainy as he walked out into he darkness of the Dungeon. How I wished then to be back at queen’s palace and not having to worry about Josh Paku or Brainy or anything. I was mad. Mad at josh Paku. I stomped my foot hard onto the ground. It took all my strength because of my weak malnourished body. I guess I thought it would make everything right. It almost did. It helped a lot anyway.
The wood under me gave way and my foot went thought the rotten would. It didn’t go very far however because there was another layer of floor underneath. But the weird thing was that on that new floor was a door. IT was metal, with a rusted latch. I wondered were it leaded. If I could only break that latch. It was trusted but with my weak body I didn’t have the strength to break it. Chibong would, he would be able to crack the lock and get the door open.
I ran over to the corner Chibong was sleeping in.
"Chibong," I whispered nudging him awake.
"What do you want Jodie? I need my rest. I’m so starved I always sleeping away all day and all night. I don’t have the energy to stay awake anymore. What do you want?"
"Chibong, I found a door leading out of the Prison. We might be able to get food Chibong food. There’s a latch on the door though and I wa----"
"Sorry Jodie I’m to weak to break locks I’m jus----"
"But Chibong it’s all rusted and It’s very important and I really need you he-------"
"Fine, Fine. I’ll break the lock, but please don’t bother me anymore. I’ll break the lock but I’m not going to explore it with you. I don’t know where you humans get all your energy. How can you go so long without food and still be so energetic." Chibong got up and walked over to the balcony,
"Where’s the lock?" He asked sheepishly. I pointed. HE walked over and crumpled the lock with one hand. Can you believe that? With one hand! Look who’s saying he’s too sleepy to walk. I opened the steel door. And lowered myself into the darkness. I could see absolutely nothing. Nothing at all. I needed to light a match. It was so dark that my eyes felt like they were going to bulge out of my head. Is tuck my hand into my pocket and took out a match Chibong had given me just in case I ever found myself in a cave. I never understand why I would find myself in a cave, but I accepted the present anyway.
Something fury crawled over my foot.
"Ah!" I let out a yelp. Mice. I was terrified of Mice; quickly I took out the match and swiped it across the little bar on the package. The room lit up with light and I took a look around. Food was all around. Potatoes, sweet potatoes, corn, bread, chicken, turkey, green beans, all kinds of food lay around me. Different smells filled the room. Then, everything went black.
When I woke up, all I saw was darkness. Where am I? I thought. I felt around for some kind of clue. Then I remembered. This was the secret room under the prison floor.
I patted around trying not to bump into things. Maybe there’s some kind of light switch in here, I thought. I crawled around the floor feeling for matches or perhaps a liter, and then I stood up and started touch the ceiling hoping to find the exit. The thought of Josh showing up in the prison made me shiver. He’d kill us right on the spot if he found out. I had to find the door. Suddenly the room filled with bright light. I fell backwards onto a big pile of sacks full of bread.
"Jodie, What are you doing down there. You were here for hours. What are you doing?"
"I-I was looking around and-oh there was food lots of food, I fainted, it was dark. Oh dear me quickly get me a flashlight, let’s eat!"
"Whoa, Whoa wait a minute hear Jodie. Your saying there's food down there? Nonsense, show me."
"Yes, Yes, there’s food. Believe me. See look, Bread," I took out a loaf of bread to show Chibong.
"Bread? Give me that!" At this point, Chibong jumped into the room and snatched the bread from me, "Mine!" he screamed in delight as he started gobbling down the loaf so fast I was afraid He was going to choke. HE reached into the bag and started to devour more loafs.
"What's going on-----"Brainy began to say but stopped short and stared down at Chibong.
"Food! You got food! Give me that sack!" He jumped onto Chibong and tugged at the sack
"They’re mine, you stupid brainless flea! I got them first!"
"So? I want them! Give it!" He started to wrestle and punch Chibong. Of course, Brainy’s punching was no match for Chibong’s strong-arms and legs. Brainy’s Punching was just like a fly buzzing around or a mosquito stinging your arm. Even though, Brainy continued to fight begin quite a nuisance to Chibong. Suddenly the room or maybe not just the room was filled with a flashing blue light,
"AAAAAA AAAAAA AAAAAAA AAAAAA AAAAAA Hello, This is security control issuing a code blue Attack. All men to the Cannon room and be ready to fire. We have seven patrol boats on our tail. We intend to out sail them but if they get in range, Fire on them. According to the radar readings. There are patrol boats Closing in from Albuquerque. Attacking would get all of them on us. This has been a code blue security warning. Ears opened for any further instructions from Josh"
"A dear. Come on Jodie, we have to get back into he Prison or Josh will find out about this place! Quickly, close the door. Let’s see we can stack these boards like this and maybe Josh won’t notice that there’s a hole in the floor. Uh—I got it! We can put one of these scrolls over it like this. That’s looks almost enough like a floor.
"Oh Brainy, your such a worry wart. Hoist me up to that hole up there. I want to see what going on." Brainy put me on his shoulder and I looked through the hole. I listened,
"Are you telling me we have seven Patrol boats on our back a your choice was to flee? I can’t believe this. What have you done? Listen here you fool! I want you to turn this ship around and I want every on eof those seven boats sunk. And I want them sunk before they reach the Albuquerque Police station or even worse…Cody.
"But boss, How are we supposed to do that. They can radio the station right after we hit them. We can’t sink them fast enough.
"I don’t really care what you do. Block the signal, Knock the radio out of the boat, Kill the guys for god sake, anything, but don’t you let one of those boats radio Cody or anyone else, is that clear?"
"Y-Yes boss"
"Good! It’s like I have to tell you face to face to get you do something right nowadays."
Oh no. Josh was going to turn the ship around. I had to warn all the prisoners or they’d be thrown around the prison like beans in a beanbag. I jumped. The entire ship had started to tilt. I was too late. Josh had obviously manually started to turn the ship. Slowly the ship began to tilt more and more onto its side. I hung on to the bars on top of the ceiling. Then the water started to come in. Since the Prison was the only room without glass Windows the water could came in between the bars easy. The ship had tilted so far that the waves were splashing into he Prison. Then slowly the ship began to float upright again. Just as I was recovering from the tilt, The floor of the ship rumbled.
"Amazing, just amazing," Said Chibong looking out the window.
"What’s amazing Chibong?" I asked him wondering what on earth he was talking about.
"Oh, hi Jodie. I was just watching Josh shoot the cannons. This ship is truly magnificent. I mean ya Josh is the one who runs it, butlook at it. Look at al the things it can do."
